questo tipo di oscillatore Royer (modificato) si avvale di 2 componenti attivi di spinta e di un circuito risonante, senza quest'ultimo il sistema non funzionerebbe. Si potrebbe assimilare questo circuito ad una persona in altalena e 2 persone che spingono a turno se mancasse il tipo sull'altalena uno dei 2 spingitori il più veloce spingerebbe verso il punto dove c'era l'altalena cadendo a terra metre l'altro vedendo ciò si fermerebbe e resterebbe in piedi. Ora il Royer ha bisogno di una partenza decisa, un contatto immediato dell'alimentazione, se al contrario si collega ad un alimentatore variabile e si partisse da zero Volt salendo lentamente quando uno dei due mosfet chiude non dà un colpo abbastanza violento al circuito risonante e questo non riuscirebbe ad agire sui gate dei mosfet (tramite il diodo) quindi resta saturato con passaggio di forte corrente potrebbe anche bruciarsi. Quindi mai alimentare un Royer del genere con tensione troppo bassa e salire. Mai alimentare il Royer già collegato all'alimentatore accendendo poi quest'ultimo ma prima si accende l'alimentatore e poi si da contatto al Royer

ZVS Techniek wilde graag zijn producten zichtbaar maken op het display netwerk. De huidige generatie zoekt en bekijkt tegenwoordig alles via mobiel en tablet. ZVS Techniek wilde zijn producten op een begrijpbare manier uitleggen zodat het verkopen vanzelf gaat, bijvoorbeeld door middel van een uitleg animatie (explanimation). Daarnaast was ZVS Techniek op zoek naar een manier om op de beurs visueel meer op te vallen. Oplossing: Op basis van aangeleverde CAD modellen hebben wij de producten van ZVS Techniek in een real-time virtuele omgeving geplaatst, wat het mogelijk maakt om er zowel een uitleg animatie voor op het display netwerk van te maken, als een touchscreen applicatie voor op de beurs. Om aanwezig te zijn op het display netwerk hebben wij voor ZVS Techniek een opvallende uitleg animatie gemaakt of wel een explanimation. Hierin hebben wij de visuele beelden gecombineerd met een voice-over, wat er voor zorgt dat de informatie die ZVS Techniek wil overbrengen visueel begrijpbaar is en een stuk gemakkelijker is op te nemen voor de kijker. Voor op de beurs, in de showroom en bij de klant hebben wij een interactieve touchscreen applicatie gemaakt waarmee ZVS Techniek zijn gebruikers uitdaagt te spelen met zijn producten. De applicatie is geschikt voor zowel mobiel en tablet, maar ook op een grote touchscreen tv wall ideaal voor op de beurs. In de applicatie zijn de belangrijkste producten van ZVS Techniek virtueel gevisualiseerd, die op de huidige generatie mobiel en tablet erg handig zijn om overal interactief te presenteren. In this video we will show you how to make a powerful Tesla coil running at high frequency with beautiful sword like lightning discharges. The driver which is a ZVS Driver or Mazilli Driver can be cheaply bought for about $30. It is also easy to make. The coils can be around on PVC pipe.This video shows a sturdy self-contained unit that can be just plugged in to a variac for sword arcs or DC switching power supply for near silent continuous wave operation at high power. The negative rail is common (join all negative connections together) and also join them to mains ground- in my case the mains ground connection from the variac output. The bottom of the secondary coil is connected to mains ground or real earth ground. Certainly not optimal yet, but works very well. The electronics is way simpler then a QCW coil where the gates need to be turned on and off in synch with the ramped input. The principle of operation for this particular coil is that the gates of the mosfets or IGBTs in the ZVS circuit are actively driven at the resonant frequency of the coil system. When a ramped voltage is applied to the ZVS circuit, the Tesla coil comes to life with nice sword sparks. High frequency coils around 300kHz or greater and ramped inputs promote the formation of these sword sparks. This video is just a test run. An arduino is used to generate the ramped output (as PWM signal) which turns on an off an IGBT switch. The PWM output is passed through a low pass LC filter to generate the ramp. The ramped voltage supplies the ZVS circuit. Some issues encountered with this preliminary setup are stray RF which interferes with the proper functioning of the Arduino. A fellow YouTuber Jerry Miller ( Arc Angel Tesla Coil) has helped me a lot collaborating on this project. The video immediately previous to this one is a small ramped ZVS but with gates spontaneously oscillating and not being actively driven. The major difference between spontaneously oscillating coil and actively driven ( on gates) is much higher voltages and much more power can be pushed through through the coil when the gates are being actively driven. To actively drive the gates, use a GDT so one gate is turned on while the other is turned off and vice versa. The high frequency UF4007 diodes and the 10k pull down resistors need to be removed for this mode of operation. Need to have the gates partially turned on by applying 12V to both gates via 100 Ohm ceramic wire wound resistors using an external power supply. That’s the basics!

This is a cool circuit that allows for fairly solid output voltage regulation within the constraints of what the ZVS driver can handle. Since I want to be able to charge caps up to possibly 650V or so I want something which can reliably keep the output voltage from exceeding that. It seems like with just a combination of adjusting the ZVS input voltage and modulating its output it can be made into a nicely controllable converter. The mosfet gate switching becomes sort of an unpredictable modulation where with my first ZVS I tested it with there were some issues. I could hear a lot of noise in nearby powered speakers coming off the transformer etc. Now that I can quickly ramp up a large capacitor voltage very similarly to how it would work from a variac that does 480 and have it output a set voltage, I can throw an ammeter in line with the output feeding the cap to see what the actual leakage current is in uA or mA. I saw a little tweaking of the input current at 355VDC on the tested cap so IDK if that is some indication of bad leakage or not but it would be interesting to see how that translates into what's actually going into the capacitor shown by an ammeter. By having 3 trimmers it would work fairly precise, two being course and fine voltage adjust and the third being buck converter CC. Since the ZVS does about a 100W or so during initial charging of a large cap, that few seconds of charge can be slowed down tremendously by limiting the current into the ZVS.
